Our laboratory is called "Laboratory of protein engineering", but we attach great importance not only to "protein engineering" to create new proteins, but also to "protein science" to understand the fundamentals of proteins. Research targets are mainly receptors that are the target of drugs and antibodies that have come to occupy a large share as drugs. By making full use of various methods of molecular biology and biophysics, we aim to clarify the functions of these important proteins at the molecular and atomic levels and create useful protein molecules that can contribute to human health.
